MEDI 8519 Language of Medicine Year 2

Language of Medicine Year 2 (LOM 2) deals with the following basic medical sciences and their clinical applications relevant to all organ systems. In the LOM Year 2 module students learn major concepts and fundamental principles of gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology, embryology, and pathology that will help them acquire adequate knowledge and skills required to critically analyze and interpret patient problems built into PBL cases, large group interactive sessions, clinical skills lab, and later in the clinical setting during clerkship years.  Students will explore important topographic relationships of organ systems in human body prosections (plastinates) and in conventional X-rays and CT, US and MRI scans that illustrate clinical applications of anatomy and pathology. In addition, students will learn microscopic structure and functions of tissues and organs in virtual histology lab.
