MEDI 9503 Readiness for Residency

"Readiness for Residency" is a capstone course required for all MS year 4 students to assure preparedness for residency. The course curriculum is competency based in design and utilizes the AAMC Core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) for Entering Residency as its framework. This culminating experience will serve to re-enforce and enhance the student's ability to apply medical knowledge, clinical skills and patient centered communication in a team-based approach. Learning sessions focus on general residency skills which include history taking, physical examinations, oral presentations, clinical documentation, hand-off and transitions in care, utilizing diagnostic tests and imaging, surviving intern year, and collaborating on an interprofessional care team. The course is offered virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will include case-based learning, group didactic sessions, interactive workshops, simulation and on-line learning modules.
