The Bachelor of Science in Integrated Health Sciences with a concentration in Clinical Professions is a 120 hour program designed to provide students with a foundation in health science education and the flexibility to complete the pre-requisite courses for specific designated undergraduate programs at UTRGV which require a secondary application for admission including: Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science and Communication Sciences and Disorders. Students who are admitted to those programs will have a change of major done for them by program staff, those who are not admitted will be able to complete their Bachelor's in Integrated Health Science.
Core Curriculum - 42 hours
The Core Curriculum serves as a broad foundation for the undergraduate degree. All candidates for a bachelor’s degree must achieve core student learning outcomes, including communication, critical thinking, empirical and quantitative skills, teamwork, personal responsibility and social responsibility, by completing courses within each category or component area of the Core Curriculum as outlined below.

Students seeking the most efficient way to complete the core curriculum and major or minor requirements are advised to take approved courses that can fulfill both requirements. Although core curriculum courses can also be used to fulfill major or minor requirements, earned credits hours are only applied once.
