The M.S. in Health Sciences with a concentration in Clinical Laboratory Sciences online program provides advanced knowledge for certified medical laboratory scientists and medical technologists seeking to advance their careers.

Focused on the major areas of laboratory medicine as well as management and leadership, this 100% online master's degree prepares you for middle management in hospital or reference laboratories. Graduates may also pursue consulting positions in private labs or physician office labs or teaching positions in medical laboratory science programs at a university or hospital.

Admission Requirements

In addition to all requirements of the UTRGV Graduate College, program admission requirements are:

  1. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a recognized international equivalent in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  2. Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester credit hours.
  3. Two letters of reference.
  4. Letter of intent.
  5. Medical Laboratory Scientist certification by American Society for Clinical Pathology - MLS(ASCP)CM
