FMED 9532 Family Medicine, Sports Medicine

At the completion of the course, the student will be able to: 
 1. Take a medical history and perform a physical exam appropriate to Primary Care Sports Medicine. 
 2. Describe and identify common sports medicine pathologies via imaging modalities (e.g., X-ray, MRI). 
 3. Diagnose and manage common sports injuries including appropriately using imaging, ancillary services and specialty referrals. 
 4. Prescribe basic rehabilitation modalities for musculoskeletal injuries. 
 5. Compare the responsibilities of a sideline Team Physician to the responsibilities of a physician in ambulatory settings.
Prerequisite: Family Medicine MS3.
Permission Required: Director Sports Medicine.
