NLGY 9502 Neuro-Interventional and Neurocritical Care

This course is designed to give the student experience in the evaluation of inpatient and outpatient complex stroke patients. Students will further develop history taking, neurologic exam, critical thinking, differential diagnosis, treatment plan and patient management skills in neuro-critical care patients. The student will be completing assessments of patients with altered levels of consciousness, traumatic brain injuries and other severe neurologic conditions and presentations.  The students are expected to have assigned patient care duties, patient presentations, daily work schedules and participate in other learning opportunities as assigned. They will participate with the care team at the level of an acting intern during this sub-internship.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of MS1-MS3 medical curriculum.
