EPSY 6362 ABA 2: Philosophical Underpinnings and Introduction to Concepts and Principals
This course provides an introduction to the foundational knowledge that should be mastered prior to entering practice as a behavior analyst. The topics covered are not tasks that a practitioner would perform; instead, they are basic philosophical underpinning, concepts and principals that must be understood for a practitioner to carry out the tasks of a BACB. Content includes: goals of behavior analysis, philosophical assumptions, radical behaviorism, experimental vs. applied behavior analysis, and the dimensions of applied behavior analysis. Additionally, this course includes an introduction to basic concepts and principals including: behavior, stimulus, conditioning, reinforcement and punishment.
