EEMS 6305 Advanced Sustainable Agriculture

This course provides an overview of the sustainability of food production at multiple levels: farm, community, region, nation and global. Students will examine ecological, socio-economic, and cultural implications of food systems, and discuss how these may change in response to different agricultural or environmental policies. Students will gain understanding of environmental problems caused by conventional agriculture, and challenges posed by sustainable agriculture in light of global climate change, desertification, and water scarcity.
