PSCI 5304 Quantum Ideas for STEM Professionals

This course introduces students to quantum mechanics concepts and their applications in modern devices in semiconductor physics, optics, and optoelectronics. The course emphasis is to provide students with a solid understanding of quantum ideas and techniques necessary to understand recent advances in the area of quantum mechanics. Topics will include Schr"dinger Equation, Linear Operators, Dirac Notation, Approximation Methods of Quantum Mechanics, Density matrix and its connection to Statistics, Quantum Mechanics of Electromagnetic Fields and Light.
