SURG 9511 ENT Private Practice

This fourth year ENT Surgical elective at The South Texas Sinus Institute focuses on team-based comprehensive care for the diagnosis and treatment of ENT, sinus surgical procedures, and Balloon Sinuplasty provided in an office setting to patients. Students will be exposed to the latest techniques in sinus treatment, state of the art medical technology, and cutting edge research with access to data bases of thousands of sinus surgical procedures to review. Students will focus on Rhinology, general ENT Sinus Disease, the anatomical structures of the head (sinus), and have participate in ongoing clinical research on the treatment of the sinuses. As all procedures are provided in the office setting, students will experience the Honrubia Technique, Balloon Sinuplasty surgeries, 3D Navigation Technology, and be exposed to the only office-based Medtronic in the United States.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of all yr 3 Clerkships
