KINE 5350 Cardiovascular Physiology

This course is designed to provide in depth insight into how the cardiovascular system functions in health and disease, and how exercise can prevent/treat cardiovascular disease. An advanced study of the principles and concepts of cardiometabolic physiology and the impact of exercise, systematically detailing the effects of exercise on specific physiological systems and under various conditions is essential for advanced-level exercise physiology students. Emphasis will be placed on how the metabolic and vascular systems work with each other on both cellular and systems levels. The body's function from the cellular to system level during exercise will be examined. Both applied and theoretical aspects will be discussed.
