MUSI 6382 Music History and Literature - 19th Century (Romantic)

The course predominantly surveys trends that developed over the 19th century, along with the historical, cultural, social, political, and economic contexts surrounding it. Students will engage a variety of materials including musical scores, historical sources, and scholarly commentary to address issues of historiography, aesthetics, music theory, and criticism.
