COVID-19 Impacted Clerkship Clinical Experiences

Sub-internships

Students may complete a sub-internships in any specialty of interest. Students must complete their sub-internship at their UTRGV home institution unless they have met the criteria outlined by the AAMC's (Coalition for Physician Accountability) exemption for an away rotation. The 4-week sub-internship gives students the opportunity to expand their outpatient or inpatient knowledge and clinical skills. They will be performing at an intern level within the clinical team in preparation for residency training. Sub-internships are available in a variety of disciplines such as Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, OB/GYN, and Surgery.
