MARS 6323 Benthic Ecology

This course provides an overview of coastal and marine benthic ecology. Students will study hard- and soft-bottom ecosystems from the coast to the deep sea and the biological, physical, and chemical processes governing their biodiversity, ecology, and ecosystem function. This course will also cover ecosystem services, climate change and anthropogenic effects, and management, conservation, and restoration as relevant to these benthic ecosystems.
