MATH 8698 Interdisciplinary Research
This is a 6-credit hour course that will prepare students for interdisciplinary research and the Ph.D. candidacy exam in the field of expertise of their advisor(s). The coursework will include contributions from academic disciplines such as physics, engineering, computer science, biology, biomedical science, environmental science, or economics, that build knowledge requisite for research in multiple areas. By the end of the course sequence, the student must present the dissertation research proposal before the Ph.D. candidacy committee. This course is an independent study for a student to begin their research and prepare for their candidacy exam under the supervision of their advisor(s).

Graduate standing and consent of the instructor or program director.
