AUDI 4355 Audiology Practicum

This course provides audiology undergraduate students with a detailed and practical understanding of hearing testing, normal and abnormal auditory systems, and basic practices used to evaluate hearing ability required by the American-Speech Language-Hearing Association in order to pursue the Certificate of Clinical Competence. Students will gain experience in testing and screening techniques to proceed with the appropriate treatment for patients, including professional referrals with a multidisciplinary clinical team. Students will participate in diagnostic tests, hearing aid troubleshooting, and report writing. Students will learn to interpret the results of audiological evaluations and make appropriate recommendations based on the results of audiometric assessments.
