FREN 2323 Introduction to French Cinema in English

This course (taught in English) focuses on the technological and artistic roots of cinema and traces the evolution of the art from silent and surrealist movies to the New Wave and the Post-New Wave. The course also revolves around the fundamental question of what renders French films different from Hollywood film.
