SOCI 4320 TheSociology of the Family

An examination of the family from a comparative historical approach. This course provides an analysis of the changes in the structure and purpose of family across time, variations in family across cultures, and the reciprocal influence between family and other social institutions. It also offers an analysis of the interpersonal aspects of family relationships and variations in these patterns by gender, socioeconomic status, and race and ethnicity.
