EDCI 7353 Teaching and Learning Algebraic Concepts

This course covers teaching and learning theories related to school algebra in an era of mathematical aversion, as well as strategies for teaching algebraic concepts in k-12. Topics include best practice-based on research related to the history and evolution of algebra and its relation to algebraic thinking, high-leverage classroom practices to promote conceptual understanding of algebra, and algebra as a connected subject to students, standards, and pedagogy.
