MEDI 9115 Clinical Foundations

This course will introduce students to the patient care concept and procedural skills that will be utilized in the clinical years and future medical practice. Concepts include History and Physicals, oral presentation skills, patient privacy, HIPAA, and OSHA workplace safety. Students will develop their clinical reasoning skills through the interpretation of EKGs, radiographs, as well as through interprofessional collaboration. They will also be given an opportunity to learn and practice procedural skills such as IV insertion, phlebotomy, Foley Catheter placement, and Basic Cardiac Life support.
