PHYS 8375 Advanced Structure and Function of Biological Molecules
This course intensively delves into the basic principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and kinetics of biological molecules, with emphasis on the structure-function relationships. Physical principles underlying the formation of the secondary and tertiary structure of proteins, structural dynamics of DNA, and DNA-protein interactions will be reviewed. By the end of the course, students should have a strong foundation in the structure and function of proteins and nucleic acids, as well as confidence in reading and interpreting the primary literature.
Prerequisite
PHYS 5375 or consent of department.
