PEDI 9505 Pediatric Hematology-Oncology

The goal of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology elective is to develop knowledge and skills in diagnostic evaluation, therapy, and follow-up of hematology/oncology patients. Clinical activities will take place primarily in the outpatient setting. The student will work with a multidisciplinary team to meet the complex psychosocial needs of this patient population. The student is expected to demonstrate professional responsibility in working as a team member with other members of the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team, patients, and families. Pediatric Clerkship is required prior to taking this course.

Prerequisite: Year 3 General Pediatrics Clerkship, PEDI 9110.
