College of Education and P-16 Integration

The mission of the College of Education and P-16 Integration (CEP) is to develop highly qualified, multiculturally responsive and sustaining, innovative educators, provide rigorous programs, engage in continuous improvement, and lead through evidence-based decision making.

In the CEP we offer doctoral, master’s, and bachelor degrees aimed at preparing educators and leaders who promote social justice, value and appreciate diversity, and embrace lifelong learning.

Our three priorities are quality, a culture of inquiry, and positionality. The quality of our programs is evidenced by the national rankings of our online master’s programs, the admission of our doctoral programs into the Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate, the multiple recognitions of our STEP UP program for teacher preparation, and the inclusion of our teacher preparation program into the BranchED national transformation center. We are positioned at the forefront of data use for program improvement and data-informed decision making through our participation in the Teacher Preparation Data Model. We also use cutting-edge Mixed Reality Simulations in our programs to provide candidates with early opportunities to refine their skills in a risk-free environment.

In the CEP we highly value our collaboration with our school district partners, who are instrumental in providing quality field experience settings for our candidates to develop into skilled professionals. We also value and respect the contributions of our candidates’ families and communities, which we are committed to serve.
