Department of Teaching and Learning
Our collaborative and innovative faculty are dedicated to excellence and equity in education at all levels. We are a key producers of Latinx teachers, bilingual educators, and special educators in the Rio Grande Valley, Texas, the Southwest, and beyond. We provide a full range of EC6 programs including undergraduate programs leading to teacher certification including Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language, Early Childhood Education, Special Education. We also offer an online 18-hour undergraduate specialization in Educational Technology toward the Bachelor of Applied Technology, Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences, and the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies associated with the Finish@UT degree completion program. Several graduate degree and graduate certification programs are available through Teaching and Learning including a Masters of Education in Curriculum with a specialization in Math Education or Elementary Math-Science education, a Masters of Education in Educational Technology, a Master’s in Teacher Leadership, a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization, E-Learning Certificate, Technology Leadership in Education Certificate.
