ENGL 4302 Postcolonial Literature and Theory
A critical introduction to the postcolonial literatures of Africa, South Asia, Pacific Oceana, and the Caribbean. The course will analyze how colonialism, indigenous responses to imperialism, and decolonization shape conceptions of the self, the nation, and the world. Emphasis will be placed on issues of identity, race, gender, trans/nationalism, diaspora and globalization in the 20th and 21st centuries. Area(s): World.
