MECE 2350 Numerical Methods for Engineers
This course offers students an in-depth exposure to the use of numerical methods and programming to solve engineering problems in addition to teaching them the basics of probability theory and statistics in engineering. It covers the following topics: basic programming (including data structure, if-then-else statements, loops, etc.), numerical solutions to linear and nonlinear equations, optimization, curve fitting, numerical calculus, and statistics. The course content assumes only an introductory previous exposure to engineering concepts and focuses on exposing students to the programming skills commonly used in later engineering courses to solve problems numerically.
