MUSI 1199 Inner Game of Success

This course offers support for students studying acting or theatre, involved in politics or debate, taking a speech course or preparing for any oral presentation, training to become a teacher, performing music or dance, competing in athletics or martial arts, and anyone wishing to improve their presentations and reduce anxiety. Throughout the course, students will interpret artistic expression from the viewpoint of observing the mental side of performance, developing a new appreciation for how actors, comics, musicians, and others developed superior focus: "mind over matter." The course will enable critical, creative, and innovative communication about the mental/emotional aspect of creating various works of art. The end result is a student who has better control and understanding of the creative process as it relates to works of human imagination, and who can use various strategies to conquer stage fright and allow themselves to be at their best.
