PHYS 4401 Physics Education

This course is a capstone course primarily designed for students intending to become high school teachers. It provides these pre-service teachers with strong pedagogical content knowledge. Through the use of research-based teaching strategies and assessments, students develop improved understanding of difficult-to-grasp concepts in mechanics, electricity, magnetism, heat, thermodynamics, optics, and modern physics. Students will develop teaching/learning materials appropriate for high school students. The course is taught in an integrated lecture and laboratory format.
