MEDI 9509 COVID-19 Preparedness & Response Elective

COVID-19 Preparedness and Response elective is designed to provide 4th year medical students with a foundational understanding of the COVID-19  (Coronavirus) and its effects globally. Students will learn of the virus, disease etiology, and modes of transmission. Students will also learn of signs and symptoms, diagnosis and treatment plans, and complete a virtual patient simulation case. The course also provides training on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clinical safety training. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in community service and public health-based responses to mitigate the spread of the disease.

Prerequisite: Completion of Y3 curriculum.
