ASLI 3350 American Sign Language Literature

This course provides an overview of various genres in American Sign Language (ASL) narratives ranging from visual vernacular to fictional narratives. Students will analyze contents, themes and stylistic techniques of works done by various ASL literary artists. An analysis of Deaf cultural themes as expressed in short stories, poetry, drama, song, and humor will be addressed.
