CLSC 2429 Clinical Microbiology in Health Care

This course will focus on the immunology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases. The major categories of microbial pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites will be discussed in relationship to human disease processes. Utilization and interpretation of laboratory findings in the health care setting will be emphasized. Students will have the opportunity to acquire skills in the use of universal precautions and infection control techniques. Recommended for pre-professional students interested in the health professions.
