INFS 3375 Data Visualization

This course focuses on developing technical and creative skills to transform data into visual reports for producing a shared understanding. Students will learn to use software to organize and visualize data, with an emphasis on applying best practices in data visualization and design principles to produce clear, polished interactive graphs and dashboards that engender an insight, message, or recommendation distilled from the data. Students will use data visualization and dashboarding software and develop transferable skills that can apply to the most common software packages in the field. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data visualization and become familiar with data visualization techniques for data storytelling.

Prerequisite

All students pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, or Bachelor of Science in Materials Management and Logistics from VCoBE, must apply for and be admitted to VCoBE before they are allowed to enroll in the Advanced Business Core and Major coursework for their degree.
