ENVR 4306 Environmental Economics

This course explores the interdependencies between the environment and the economy. It applies basic and essential economic theories and analytical tools to address issues involving the joint interaction of economic activity, the environment, and the use of natural resources. The focus includes market failure, externalities from diverse pollutants, property rights for environmental goods, inter-temporal allocation of exhaustible resources, sustainable development, environmental polarization, various policy solutions to address environmental challenges, and environmental valuation.
