The Mind, Brain, and Behavior course is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary course providing an integrated approach to the study of the central and peripheral nervous system for medical students and graduate students. Through this intense and thorough learning experience, students are prepared for their clinical clerkships or academic research in this discipline. In the course, students will be exposed to the normal anatomy, development, physiology, molecular and cellular mechanisms required for the health and homeostasis of the nervous system, neurological disorders, and psychiatric disorders. During the study, students are expected to apply knowledge of basic science (including neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, neuropathology, and behavioral science) to the diagnosis of neurological and psychiatric disorders as well as understanding various treatments such as pharmacology and environmental interventions. Students will benefit from series of problem-based learning, team-based learning and evidenced based medicine activities to develop skills in medical problem-solving, communication, and teamwork in this course.
