ACCT 7302 Accounting Internship

This course requires a minimum of 320 hours of supervised training in a public accounting firm, an industry setting, a not-for-profit organization, or a governmental entity. The internship must be conducted under the direct supervision of a licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant). Students must secure their own accounting internship, and the internship must involve bona fide accounting work under the direct supervision of a licensed CPA. The course provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world accounting practices, gaining practical experience and professional insight into the field. Completion of this course is recognized by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) and can be applied toward the education requirements to sit for the CPA exam.

Graduate standing in the MACC program, completion of at least 9 credit hours of MACC-level courses, no prior internship course taken for credit, and consent of instructor.
