EEMS 6380 Ocean and Coastal Governance: Policies, Institutions, and Management
This course examines the governance frameworks that shape ocean and coastal resource management at local, national, and international levels. Students will explore the roles of governments, international organizations, non-governmental actors, and communities in managing marine resources and ensuring sustainable development. Topics include marine spatial planning, fisheries governance, climate adaptation policies, and emerging challenges such as deep-sea mining and blue economy initiatives.
