MUSI 3328 Mariachi Pedagogy in Music Education
This course is designed to develop ways of thinking about teaching and learning mariachi music that will serve students throughout their careers as a music educators. Students will become familiar with the pedagogical foundations of teaching mariachi music. Students will develop knowledge, skill, and techniques for planning, delivering, and evaluating mariachi music instruction, including developing skills on teaching mariachi music as a vocal and instrumental style. Students observe and practice teaching techniques appropriate for mariachi repertoire and mariachi style. Open to music majors and minors.
