DIET 6351 Medical Nutrition Therapy in Diabetes
This course will focus on advanced knowledge and skills regarding management of diabetes with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy and current research. The student will examine Medical Nutrition Therapy in medication management, comorbidities and complications, mental health, physical activity, and current diabetes technology. Diabetes across the lifespan will be explored to include pediatrics, adolescences, pregnancy, and elderly. Special emphasis will be given to lifestyle modification and prevention of diabetes in the community.
Prerequisite
Accepted status in the MS in Dietetics program and
DIET 6332.
