INTM 9551 Intensive Care Unit - Sub-internship DHR
The internists are often involved in the care of patients who may be critically ill and who may require management in the intensive care unit. Therefore, the Intensive Care Unit Rotation elective rotation provides an excellent opportunity for the students to attain the knowledge and skills necessary for the management of the critically ill patient. Upon completion of the Intensive Care Unit Rotation, the student is expected to: demonstrate knowledge, clinical and technical skills and decision-making capabilities pertinent to the management of critically ill patients, including end-of-life care and issues around withdrawing and withholding life support.
