EDUC 6323 Residency I
This is the first of two courses designed for students seeking certification in the MAT program under the residency pathway. Residents will be placed in a state-accredited public school all day under the guidance of an experienced classroom teacher (mentor) and a university supervisor for two semesters. The focus will be on the integration of pedagogical-content knowledge, development of critical reflection, professional boundaries, and well-informed decision-making for the improvement of professional practice with an emphasis on the implementation of effective instruction, assessment, technology integration, and classroom management.
Prerequisite
Admission to the Teaching (MAT) program AND Admission to the College of Education Clinical Residency Program.
