MUSI 3210 The Art of Teaching and Pedagogy

Course designed to introduce students to current practices, methodsand strategies applicable to applied and group teaching of instrumental and vocalmusic.This course will include classroom activities and field experiences designed to develop the critical thinking, communication, and presentation skills needed to become effective pedagogues. This course will require classroom observations in a variety of public school settings, mentored teaching internships in local public schools, as well as, self and peer analysis, critique, and evaluation of teaching.
