PHIL 3351 Religious Literature

In this course we will read religiously themed works of fiction, nonfiction, sacred texts from various religious traditions, and ancient and contemporary commentaries on religious texts. It can include narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, prophetic and apocalyptic literature, parables, epistles, and song. Themes include topics like the nature of belief, faith, suffering, God, theodicy, death, the afterlife, and ethics.
