SOCI 6342 Poverty
This seminar discusses and explores sociological research on poverty both in the United States and internationally. Students will evaluate conceptualizations of poverty, measurement of poverty, how poverty affects particular populations and life chances, and how poverty is related to other social forces and outcomes. Students will read and discuss the most influential research on poverty as well as cutting-edge, recent research.
