SOCI 6360 Political Sociology

This seminar introduces students to sociological explanations of politics, political behavior, and conflict. Students will develop a deep knowledge of sociological research in these areas and investigate questions concerning how states maintain power and legitimacy, how culture shapes politics, what shapes political participation, and how contemporary social change such as transnationalism, nationalist movements, and terrorism shape politics and the lives of voters.
