PAFF 6336 Seminar in International and Development Policy

This seminar focuses on the changing roles and functions of different public, non-governmental, and private international organizations, and the services they provide. It provides an understanding of the way the UN as an intergovernmental organization works,  and how it relates to specific responsibilities of the various bodies and organizations designed to give the student an in-depth review of the multiple areas where most relief and development organizations focus their programming, namely rural development, health (HIV/AIDS), small business development (micro-finance), emergency/crisis management, peace building (conflict resolution), renewable energy transitions, and the environment.
