SOCW 6362 Substance Use and the Family

This course provides an introduction to the basic dynamic nature of substance abuse and its impact on the family, including structure, relationships, and development in the process of social evolution. The function of the family as a socialization agent will be studied. The focus will be given to value transmission, learning patterns of interaction, and impact on varieties of relationships and coping styles.
