CIVE 6332 Geothermal Engineering

The course is designed to support the development of advanced knowledge and skills involved with geothermal heating and cooling technologies. This course will provide technical knowledge, and practical training in the design of geothermal heating/cooling systems. Topics include: introduction and overview, economics, marketing and demand reduction, soil and rock classification, selecting, sizing and designing the heat pump system, designing the ground heat exchanger, energy piles and other thermo-active structures.
