CSCI 2311 Applied AI: Workflows and Process Automation

Integrated automation systems are essential to modern productivity, linking isolated tools like spreadsheets and databases with the reasoning capabilities of modern AI. This course gives students the tools to design, script, and orchestrate these connected systems using Python, APIs, and emerging agentic workflows. It emphasizes operational connectivity: constructing data pipelines, defining logic for AI tool-use, and managing the flow of information between human and machine. Students will engage in hands-on prototyping to turn isolated tasks into consistent processes, gaining insight into the reliability and security challenges involved in moving personal automation into a professional environment.
