PHYS 8351 Advanced Mathematical Physics

This advance mathematical physics course covers the following topics: special functions including Gamma function, Bessel functions, Legendre functions, angular momentum. Special functions appear in many different physics problems including boundary value problems in electrodynamics. Other topics in this course are group theory, Fourier series, integral transforms, integral equations, calculus of variations, probability, and statistics.
