MSEN 8313 Adv Mechanics of Materials

The topics covered in this course include in depth theory on structure of materials, theory of elasticity and plasticity, dislocation theory and strengthening mechanisms, fracture mechanics and failure mechanisms, fatigue mechanisms and life prediction methodologies, as well as viscoelastic phenomena such as creep and stress relaxation. The course covers important aspects of structure-property relationships of materials not covered in solid mechanics classes.
